Chair – Dianne Brown
Board Chair Dianne Brown has been a nanny for nearly 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from New York City College of Technology and a Diploma in Child Psychology from the Stratford Career Institute, with a Nanny Training Certificate from Cornell Hospital. She has served in this leadership capacity since 2017 and has been an active member of Domestic Workers United since 2005.
Treasurer – Shirland Pierre McDonald
Board Treasurer Shirland Pierre McDonald has served as a Board Officer since 2017 and has been an active member of Domestic Workers United for the last 7 years. Shirland is a generalist childcare provider over the last 15 years, who has also completed a NCS specialist course in newborn care.
Secretary and Cultural Outreach Coordinator – Christine Lewis
Christine Lewis is a NYC-based nanny who has served as Cultural Outreach Coordinator and now, Board Secretary/Worker Leader for Domestic Workers United since its founding twenty years ago. Trained as an early childhood educator, Christine is a seasoned organizer, public speaker, steel pan musician, writer, and actor at The Public Theater.
Grantwriter - Eileen Condon
Pro Bono Grantwriter Eileen Condon is a public sector folklorist (Center for Traditional Music and Dance, Project Director 2007-2016) who has given her time to DWU since she was introduced to the group in 2015 by Ninaj Raoul, founder of Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees, at the time that DWU was transitioning to full worker leadership.
